This resume template is organised into all the key sections employers expect:

How to Use This Template

Step 1 — Download and open

Click the download button and open the file in Microsoft Word 2016 or later.

Step 2 — Replace the placeholder name and contact details

Click on “Your Full Name” and type your own name. Update the contact bar below it with your real email, phone, location, and LinkedIn URL.

Step 3 — Write your professional summary

Replace the placeholder summary text with 3-4 sentences describing your experience, key skills, and career goal. Keep it specific to the job you’re applying for.

Step 4 — Add your work experience

Replace “Senior Job Title” with your most recent position. Update the company name, dates, and location. Rewrite the bullet points with your own achievements, focusing on measurable results.

Step 5 — Update education and skills

Replace the education placeholder with your real degree and university. Fill in the three skills columns with your actual skills and tools.

Step 6 — Save as your name

Go to File then Save As and name the file FirstName-LastName-Resume.docx for easy identification when emailing to employers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. This template uses standard Word headings and plain text formatting without text boxes or columns that can confuse Applicant Tracking Systems. All content is fully readable by ATS software.

It depends on the country you’re applying in. In the US and UK, photos are generally not recommended on resumes. If you need to add one, go to Insert and then Pictures and place it in the top right area of the header.

Copy the existing work experience block including the two column table and bullet points, paste it below the second entry, and update the details.

Yes. Select any blue heading text, then use the font colour picker to change it. To change all headings at once, right click a heading and choose Select All Text with Similar Formatting.

This template is set to US Letter size by default. To change to A4, go to Layout then Size then A4.

For most professionals with under 10 years of experience, one page is recommended. For senior roles or academic CVs, two pages is acceptable.
